The highest-located city in Germany (914 m above sea level) is ideal for winter sports as well as for hiking, cycling and Nordic walking in spring, summer and autumn.
The climatic conditions and scenic characteristics offer various possibilities for guests of the town at the foot of the Fichtelberg (1.215 m above sea level) to recharge your batteries.
An active exploration of the surrounding areas by skiing, snowboarding, by foot, with the mountain bike or by Nordic walking. There are numerous leisure activities to do. In the summertime you can enjoy nature by hiking through nature reserves and forests in and around the resort Oberwiesenthal or benefit from the leisure offers such as the high rope course, summer rodeling, tennis, bowling, minigolf, senses trail and much more. The healthy climate can be experienced in the wintertime on long skiing trips, ski runs of different degrees of difficulty and in the snowboard park with half pipe at the slope of the Fichtelberg.
The resorts of Oberwiesenthal and surrounding areas offer a variety of relaxation options, including spa offers, herbal treatments, day trips into the surrounding areas, carriage rides as well as visits of museums and sporting events. Riding Germany’s oldest aerial cableway is an all-season experience.
